Quick & Easy DIY Craft Project
Not too long ago, I mentioned the Praise & Prayer Boards that I created for our living room. Our Praise and Prayer boards are prominently hung in the living room and serve as the perfect daily reminder of the blessings in our lives and the hope and strength prayer offers during difficult times.
It’s so important to take time to appreciate and write down the awesome things in your day or week (the praises). Similarly, acknowledging the struggles (the prayers) opens the door for better communication among the family and allows others to pray for your struggles as well!

Create Your Own Praise & Prayer Boards
I love easy DIY craft projects. Those that can be completed in less than an hour are right up my alley. This project is exactly that! Quick, easy and the perfect DIY project, especially with Thanksgiving right around the corner! Plus, I’ve included free printable cut files to make this project a breeze for you!
You’re not going to believe how easy this is…
I simple found some tall chalkboard that were the perfect size for my room. I found mine at Hobby Lobby, but here are a few options that are available on amazon (for free shipping with Prime – woo! Amazon Prime is literally a lifesaver! Try your Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial).
Prepare the chalkboard by wiping it down with a warm cloth & drying it thoroughly. Then take a piece of chalk and cover the entire board with a thin layer. Wipe off and repeat. This helps ensure chalk will go on smoothly and erase cleanly.
Once you’ve prepared your board, cut out your vinyl or contact paper. I used my Cricut machine, which made it so quick & easy. If you don’t have a Cricut, you can also trace it onto vinyl or contact paper and cut it out with scissors or an x-acto knife.

If you haven’t jumped on the Cricut bandwagon, now is the perfect time to do so! They have an awesome new machine, the Cricut Maker. And their “older” model machines like the Cricut Explore Air (which is what I have and love) are on sale for a great price!
Once you’ve cut your vinyl, simply apply it to your chalkboard and you’re good to go!
Chalkboard markers or regular chalk work wonderfully to document all the wonderful praises and prayers in your family!
That’s it! Told you it was easy 🙂
We love the boards and the dialogue the open! I encourage you to create your own set of Praise & Prayer Boards today!
