Are you ready for the easiest, MESS-FREE cute little candy cane craft for toddlers? We made this craft today and it was age appropriate even for E (18 months old)!
Materials Needed:
Red Construction Paper
Glue Stick
Cotton Balls
Stickers & Crayons (*Optional)
Start by cutting a candy cane shape out of construction paper. I used my Cricut for this, but you can easily free-hand a candy cane shape.
Make the stripes of the candy cane with a glue stick. E is still a little too young for this part, but this would be a great skill for a slightly older toddler to practice!
Apply the cotton balls to the candy cane.
Incorporate little learning tools like counting the candy cane and/or discussing the meaning behind the candy cane.
We incorporated this quick craft with our Shepherd’s Treasure to learn the origin of the candy cane. Here’s a sweet book telling the story of the Candy Cane that is perfect for starting the conversation with children!
*Optional – we also took decorated a candy cane with some simple stickers and crayons. It was a fun little craft for E, that was age appropriate. Plus, I ended up with 2 cute little candy canes to hang in the house. 🙂
